Only 2 more days to go until I take off to Indonesia on my big summer holiday adventure wheeeee,hence the lack of posts..though im still a noobie, hah
I have also made an exciting discovery about what id prefer to call carrot pants, it seems that its been around for ageeeeessh, but theyve only caught my eyes recently, I found this one from fashion156.com blog which is visually yummy with its bubblegum pink gingham material.I think theyd be pretty comfortable to wear but Im still pondering on how I would be able to run for the bus in a pair of pants this low though..Ive also remembered seeing some carrot pants in Jean Paul Gaultier 'pirate of the carribean' inspired SS08 collection ,which probably would be more suitable to run for the bus in, and looked more sophisticated, I loved the extra 'Puff'-ness around the hip area, I can imagine the material being able to pick up air as you walk inflating/deflating the trousers in breathing motion
MC Hammer with his trademark Hammerpants has got to be the master of the carrot pants . Id love to be able to get my paw on this sewing pattern, so that I can make one like his covered in bling and then dance to u cant touch this around town, and stop people on their way to work with his 'STOP . By now, the quality of my spoken and written English MUST have gone down, due to 24/7 exposure to jpop/kpop entertainment and of course since it is now THE summer holiday, I haven't been surrounding myself with english speaking people.I wonder how could I .. if ever, be able to blurt out a single comprehensive sentence in english after the summer holiday.. Nevertheless i shall try my best to describe this feeling that I call ' Badum badum' because its the kind of feeling that reminds you of chunks of cake bouncing up and down inside your tummy and get you all excited. I must admit..actually strike that, I think most people(that knows me well) probably know that I'm a sucker for garments with chunky ass silhouette, over exaggerated parts, anything that is Simple, Bold and Quirky. So how could i contain my excitement on seeing their student works. They constantly surprises me,and makes me all giddy with excitement, I did not stop squealing and had this permanent grin on my face even long after I closed the browser .
Here are just some of the work which I found interesting, the level of creativity and imagination is unimaginable.If only i could swap my cherry laces and strawberry jam jelly brain for a slice of theirs.
Among all the avant garde pieces, I adored tomohiro tokita's work most..(bottom two) where subtle avant garde married minnie mouse and escaped to my orange eating dinosaur land where its winter, so they had to eat pills which made their vision a bit psychedelic

i think.... maybe ..just maybe..if i eat quite a lot of anti ageing cream just like dorris did, id be able to fit in to these lovely phillip lim kids fall08 collection with ocassional subtle warm cinnamon roll palette and soft structuring. There were playful white dresses also which made me want to buy a whole roll of white cotton from Hyson Green market to make a whole new wardrobe for the summer holiday..despite my previous failed attempt at making a plain white top with elasticated collar (which ended up suffocating me)..
Walter Van Beirendonck SKIN KING mens collection for autumn winter08/09 made me want to fast forward to autumn, i love the fitted but chunky tailoring, and the granny shirt with padded bow ties,..trousers with zip opening on your knee pad ,,..little dresses draped over the models head, and the quirky wooden head dressess ( i want the one with the dinosaur teeth) ..all candy coloured which makes it even more appetising. yum.
oh my, ill have plenty of project to sandwich during my summer holiday, i hope they will all be peanut butter and jelly

im not the usual crazy old lady anymore
and my colours have faded into a greyscale palette
so i tried dressing up again
but its the inside that has changed
some people call it growing up
and im 19,its white and blue
