Stele 1 = highest 33m. From the basement it as never erected. There is a false door and the doorhandle is chipped away. Philipson suggests this is a denial of pagan belief. It was made during 3 and 4 AD, time of transition.
Stele 2 = Italy Mussolini but recently returned to Ethiopia.
Stele 3 = Stands in the park. Has false door too.
Why and ho it was constructed is not known.
After the advert of Christianity, the number of stelea reduced number. Multiple burial stopped after conversion.
The Tomb of the False Door
Made during the transition. Aksumite monkey head are seen but has no stele.
